Points of interest close to Geelong Budget Car Hire
Further down along Eastern beach is the Eastern Beach Reserve and the Eastern Beach swimming enclosure. This sunny park like setting offers the perfect spot for the family to play the day away and cool down in the swimming enclosure. Built in the 1930's it offers separate kiddie pool, a wooden promenade walkway around the enclosure and a seriously fun playground.
Head East from the Geeland Budget Rent a car location, down Malop St. and the centre of the Market Square area is very close by. The corner of Malop St. and Moorabool St. is a busy hub of activity. There are retail stores of a great variety including banking, high end shopping and many restaurants.

- Queenscliff Music Festival is a yearly event that takes place during the last week in November. Since 1997 this event has been showcasing the best of Australian performers. Queenscliff is a tiny seaside town that is an easy 30 minute drive east of Geelong.
- Toast to the Coast is an annual wine festival that has been ongoing for well over 10 years. It is always held during the Melbourne Cup weekend, usually in the beginning of November. There are a number of wineries that participate and these are all located in the Geelong wine region which consists of the Surf Coast, Moorabool Valley and surrounding area. There is always a good number of wineries that showcase their premium wines (at least 25) and there is plenty of delightful dining as well.
- The annual Geelong Cup started back in 1872 and takes place during the Spring (the usual date is the Wednesday after the Caulfield Cup and 13 days before the Melbourne Cup).
- Brand new event, Motor City Music Festival, will happen for the first time March 2014 on Labour Day Weekend. Events vary to welcome 18 and over only to family friendly. Food trucks, carnival rides, local wines, and local community groups will be showcased.
- The Royal Geelong Show is the biggest local even in the Geelong area. Usually held Mid-October it showcases more than 40 competitions. There are also wine tasting, games, carnival rides, local gourmet items, and local business exhibitions.
Anyone interested in a road trip will want to investigate the Great Ocean Road.
A driving trip that will take you to the most amazing views starts in Torquay, which is approximately 20 minutes south of Geelong. From Torquay all the way to Warrnamboul there are endless vistas of unbelievable majesty. It is a road trip that can take days to fully enjoy.
